Doctor of Physical Therapy. Innovation. Tech. Collaborative Care
About me
What excites me?
I began my career at Stanford Healthcare as a graduate of Stanford’s postdoctoral Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency Program in 2017; in 2018 I became a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS). I became an adjunct faculty member of the Residency Program in 2020 so that I could assist in educating fellow Physical Therapists on best care practices. I proudly continue to work for Stanford Healthcare honing my clinical practice skills and partaking in initiatives that innovate the Physical Therapy profession and improve patients’ care outcomes.
As a Doctor of Physical Therapy, I am certified to evaluate and treat all body regions, ages, and genders; however, my personal clinical interest is in treatment of womens’ spine, pelvis, hip, and knee injuries. I strive to treat the “root cause” of an injury and value an interdisciplinary approach involving communication between appropriate healthcare providers of a patient. With each patient, I work to determine an effective plan of care, taking into account one’s lifestyle and movement goals. In respect to outcomes of treatment, I believe that objectivity in treatment is imperative to determine the effectiveness of intervention. Objectivity is accomplished through regular functional movement testing and measurements of joint motion throughout our treatment sessions. I am continuously looking to utilize health tech advances to improve objectivity and compliance to home exercise programs. Overall, I value a hybrid approach to treatment including visual movement analysis with movement pattern retraining, manual treatment techniques, and structured strength and conditioning exercise principles.
I strongly believe that each and every individual has a right to a healthy and fulfilling life. Healthy movement is an integral component in fulfilling this vision. Being an expert in movement analysis and injury recovery, I am passionate about sharing my knowledge with patients so they can not only recover from injury and movement dysfunction, but also be empowered to optimize their movement health throughout life independently.
